We are delighted to report an outstanding set of A Level results for our pupils and send our warmest congratulations to all those involved.

88% of all grades were A* to B, the highest figure the school has attained since 2018.

62% of A Levels were graded A* or A compared with the national average of 28%.

These results are testament to the magnificent work done by pupils and teachers alike over many months and years. We should not forget that the exams were taken in the midst of countless hours of dedicated music practice which our students put in to make last term's Summer Festival such a wonderful success.

Robin Harskin, the Head of YMS, said: 'Well done to each and every pupil on these magnificent results! The School is known worldwide for nurturing extraordinary young musicians, but we always take special pride in the academic achievements of our pupils as well. Our A Level results prove that musical and academic excellence go hand in hand.'

Our leavers are now headed all over the globe to continue their musical journeys in some of the finest institutions in the world, including The Royal College of Music, The Royal Academy of Music, The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, The Royal Northern College of Music, New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts, UdK in Berlin, MuK in Vienna, Kean University in New Jersey, and the University of Cambridge.

If you are interested in studying at the School and following in the footsteps of this year’s leavers, there will be an Open Morning on Friday 11 October 2024. Prospective pupils, teachers, parents, and guardians can register online.
