After graduating from the University of Birmingham with a degree in International Studies with French, Clare taught English as a foreign language in Belgium. She then pursued a career in marketing and communications, primarily in the hospitality sector, which involved living and working in Brussels, Dubai and then London over a duration of 20 years.

In the quieter periods over the last few years, Clare has enjoyed volunteering for charities specialising in literacy, which has proven to be one of the catalysts for her rejoining the education sector. Clare joined YMS in January 2024.
