David was born and grew up in the North West of England by the sea. After graduating from Durham University, David taught Maths for four years in a state school in the North East of England. He then moved back to the North West where he became Head of Maths at an Independent day school.

David’s last role was as Head of Maths and Assistant Housemaster at The Royal Ballet School, where he was responsible for creating the academic timetable. He really enjoyed working in a creative and specialist school environment which has many similarities to YMS. David was appointed as Director of Studies in September 2018.

In his leisure time, David enjoys hill walking, playing tennis and going to the theatre.
