Our pupils lead busy and varied lives.

Pupils start their GCSE subjects in the B1 year and usually choose 7 subjects.

Compulsory subjects include Maths, English Language and English Literature (or an EAL alternative) and Music. Almost all students also study German.

Pupils then usually choose two further subjects from Biology, Chemistry and History.

There may be an option for native or semi-native speakers to take a GCSE in their own language. Languages which have been taken include French, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.

At A Level, all pupils take Music and usually choose one or two further A Levels. Many also choose to continue learning German and take the Goethe Institute qualification, which is a recommendation or requirement for entry into Conservatoires in German-speaking countries.

In addition to Music, subjects currently offered at A Level include Maths, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, History and German.

As with GCSE pupils, there may be an option for pupils to take an A Level in their own language.

Alongside their musical studies and a stimulating academic programme, pupils participate in a variety of sporting and extra-curricular activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
