Double bassists generally receive three hours of instrumental tuition each week, plus additional class time. Aside from the provision offered by the School, which includes chamber music, choir and orchestra, the majority of the School’s pupils attend the Junior Royal College of Music each Saturday, during which time they are given the opportunity to experience full symphonic repertoire by playing in a JRCM orchestra.
